Cursillo...Christian Renewal

Cursillo is a renewal weekend which has an impressive record of changing lives. It offers sound teaching, warm fellowship and uplifting music to those seeking a stronger Christian walk.

The Cursillo movement began in Spain as a "short course" in Christianity and has proved to be a highly effective tool in helping Christians pursue the ministry the Lord has reserved for each one. There seems to be a high correlation between those who have attended the Cursillo weekend (the "Cursillistas") and leadership in the parish.

Cursillo teaches that the Christian life rests on a balanced of personal piety, study and action. Through monthly parish meetings (the Ultreyas) and regular small reunion groups, Cursillistas encourage and are encouraged by each other. They support the ongoing movement in the diocese through encouraging others to attend one of the Cursillo weekends at Camp Allen. For each Cursillo support is given through prayers and "palanca," small tokens of agape love.
